Hollywood Insider Interview with Actress Danielle Harold
Hollywood World: What is the movie ” Innocent Candy” about?
Danielle Harold: The story centers around two friends. Both Villains, (Hamilton and The Bishop ) both working for a vicious gangland boss D. Marco.
One tormented by the loss of his family due to the mistakes he made in life. The other, a crazy American, abused by his father and made to believe he was a sinner in the eyes of God. Both men are close friends. Both men carry scars. Both men are lost.
Hamilton’s decision to save the life of a young girl when a job goes wrong forces the friends into conflict. Both men are forced to face their pasts and their futures
Hamilton has the chance to redeem himself as a father. Finding a life outside the one he has known. And an opportunity to save rather than kill, love rather than hate. Hamilton sees a life that he could have had. An opportunity for change.
Pursued by Bishop. In conflict with his belief. Ruthlessly killing those that stand between him and finding Candy and the girl. Yet torn and confused over the need to punish or love his closest friend.
This is a beautiful story about one man’s opportunity to find redemption. His eyes and his heart opened by the compassion he shows a child and his feelings for beautiful lady called Molly.
Yet a story of pain. As the other man also seeks redemption. His eyes and his heart twisted with the pain and abuse of his early life. He is lost and alone. Confused in a life of death and revenge.
A story that reminds us ….It’s never too late.
Hollywood World: Who else is involved in the film “Innocent Candy”?
Danielle Harold: ‘Innocent Candy’ has a brilliant writer Stefan Michaels and a superb producer Stacey Gough. Both of them are supporting woman in the film industry. They have an all women crew working on the film as well as a brilliant cast which includes Anthony Costa, John Altman and more.
Hollywood World: What do you enjoy most about your current role?
Danielle Harold: I really enjoy playing the role of D’marco. She is a mob boss so she is very different to any other characters I have played in the past.
Hollywood World: What makes a good scene partner?
Danielle Harold: The key thing for me is being able to work through and understand the scene together whilst finding moments in the scene I may have missed myself.
Hollywood World: What are your favorite projects you’ve been apart of?
Danielle Harold: One of the favourite projects I have worked on would have to be ‘Fanged Up’. It was a comedy horror which was very different to anything I had ever done before. I had buckets of fake blood thrown all over me! It was great! We filmed in a closed down prison which was really cool as well as working with SFX.
Hollywood World: How much experience do you have in the field?
Danielle Harold: I have been acting for nearly 9 years now and have been so lucky to be involved in some amazing TV shows such as ‘Eastenders’ and ‘Casualty’. Also, films such as ‘Innocent Candy’, ‘Fanged Up’, ‘Two Graves’ and ‘Monster’.
Hollywood World: What do you enjoy most about your job?
Danielle Harold: The thing I love most about my job is being able to play lots of different characters from various backgrounds. I love the fact that I can have my mind set as someone who is completely different to me but yet I have to put myself in their shoes.
Hollywood World: What have you learned from different directors you have worked with?
Danielle Harold: Every director has a different mind and different ways of doing things. I love this as I can learn many different ways of approaching characters, scenes etc.
Hollywood World: From where have you learned acting?
Danielle Harold: So I took an acting course at the National Youth Theatre called ‘Playing Up’. I was there for roughly a month when I was lucky enough to get a role in BBC’S Eastenders. I learned so much there from the cast and crew. Perry Fenwich who plays Billy Mitchell spent so much time teaching me and helping me. I learned so much from him. I also learned a lot from working on films. I feel like I will be forever learning and growing and feel like there is always something new to learn everyday.
Hollywood World: What is your biggest acting achievement?
Danielle Harold: I was in an Olympic live episode of Eastenders. We hit around Eight Million views when I had a scene where I was giving birth. I’m really proud of this. Also, the Olympic torch rally came through during this episode. So all in all, it was a very special episode to be apart of.
Hollywood World: What other types of movies would you be interested in filming?
Danielle Harold: I would really love to do a film which is based on a true story. I feel like this would be very exciting and challenging to research different facts about the story to adapt in my character.
Hollywood World: Most memorable role?
Danielle Harold: My most memorable role would have to be playing ‘Dr Katie- Make Peace’ in the comedy horror ‘Fanged Up’ being covered in blood everyday. Was amazing to work with stunt coordinators and SFX.
Hollywood World: Any tips on how to be a successful actor?
Danielle Harold: The only tip I would give is to never give up. Have your mind set to a target and don’t stop working and learning until you reach your goal.
Hollywood World: What’s next?
Danielle Harold: I have some films coming out this year which I’m really excited about. Films including: ‘Innocent Candy’, ‘Two Graves’, ‘Fanged Up’ and ‘Monster’. I would really love to be apart of a TV series as well as continue in Film.
